After having been the cult film of young people of the eighties, Back to the Future has become that of their geek children. Alan Silvestri’s score also makes it a great musical moment. Will you be accompanying the Orchestre national de Lyon for a little DeLorean tour?

“You have to think big in life!” , urges us Doc, the mad scientist by whom everything happens. “Even if it means travelling through time behind the wheel of a car, you might as well choose one that has the mouth!” The soundtrack starts from the same principle: even if it means composing a theme, as much as it is the grandiose fanfare signed by Alan Silvestri; and even if it means inventing rock, as much as it is Johnny B. Goode , two years before the actual birth of Chuck Berry’s hit (which, suddenly, turns into a vulgar plagiarist of Marty McFly, the hero of the film). The actors’ haircuts have aged a bit, but the humour, the rhythm, the whimsy of Robert Zemeckis (who also collaborated with Silvestri for Romancing the Stone ,Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Forrest Gump) haven’t aged a bit.
