Concert series Blazen aan het Spui with the most beautiful symphonic music. During the concert, you will hear two very different aspects of the modern world.
Harmonie St. Petrus and Paulus (Wolder – Maastricht) is one of the best Dutch orchestras, in 2017 they won the championship title during the World Music Competition in Kerkrade. They play a wonderful symphonic program with music by Khachaturian, Shostakovich and Dvorak. From the American John Mackey the contemporary classic Aurora Awakes.
Nieuw Geluid is a collective from The Hague that likes to push the boundaries of the modern harmony orchestra. To mark the occasion, they performed at Jon Lord’s Concerto for Group and Orchestra, formed in 1969 as a collaboration between the rock band Deep Purple and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Before the performance, Nieuw Geluid enters into a collaboration with Hammond organist Carlo de Wijs, who is composing a rock band for this occasion.
