Impulse playing Pink Floyd
1 September @ 15:00 - 17:00
The Oosterhout Pink Floyd tribute band Impulse will give a unique performance on Sunday, September 1, 2024 in the Cornelius Church in den Hout.
Impulse has been playing the psychedelic rock of Pink Floyd since 2006 at various local and national stages and festivals, such as the concerts in De Bussel in 2008 and 2011.
At that time the band consisted of eleven musicians. However, Impulse has changed its composition over the years and currently plays in a five-piece line-up, supplemented with guest musicians where necessary. The basis of the band still consists of:
Henk van Bebber (drums and vocals),
Jan Evers (bass and vocals),
Hans Goossens (solo guitar),
Ronald Huizer (vocals and guitar) and
Rob van de Mark (keyboards).
For this concert the line-up has been strengthened with the singers Gerda Cocu and Maartje Ongering, who were also part of the large line-up.
Impulse has long searched for a challenging location where a church organ can be used during a performance. The foundation of the Cornelius Church in Den Hout offered the opportunity for this. The reverberating acoustics, the filtered stained glass sunlight and the impressively broad sounds of the pipe organ, together with the Pink Floyd music, form a surprising and atmospheric combination.
The repertoire for this church concert has been specially adapted to this, so that songs such as Shine on you crazy diamonds and Great day for freedom stand out even more.
